Support Literacy in Trenton, NJ!

For the 3rd consecutive year, Our Kids Read is partnering with returning Princeton alumni to host a service event on the first day of Princeton Reunions 2025. This year Our Kids Read is partnering with the APGA and the classes of 1975 and 2010 to bring 50 5th grade students from the Thomas Jefferson Intermediate School in Trenton to Princeton’s campus for a LITEARCY DAY! The students will be bussed to campus then will enjoy a campus tour, a special event at Firestone library, a storytelling event and a literacy activity with alumni Tigers. Before the students go home they will get to pick ten (10) free books to take home with them!

We need TONS of volunteers! We will need help the day of the event, setting up the book tables, reading to children in breakout rooms and other set-up and break-down activities (planning help leading up to the event is also welcome!). WWe are in need of event sponsors, our total budget for the event is $5K to cover the cost of the bus charter, purchase of books to donate to the students and the cost of lunch and Princeton swag for our student guests. Help provide books for the students that we are bringing to campus! Purchase a book (or books) for our 5th grade guests. Our goal is to ensure that each students leaves the event with 10 free books each!
