Scholastic

Scholastic’s extraordinary support — including the donation of hundreds of thousands of books — has been foundational to advancing the mission of Our Kids Read. Their generosity has enabled us to place diverse, culturally affirming books directly into the hands of K–5th grade students in underserved communities across the United States, many of whom have little or no access to books at home.

Through this partnership, Our Kids Read has been able to expand Free Book Festivals, support school and hospital-based literacy initiatives, and ensure that children in communities with the greatest literacy challenges can build home libraries of their own. Scholastic’s commitment has not only helped us distribute books at scale, but has also helped spark joy, affirm identity, and inspire a lifelong love of reading in thousands of young readers nationwide.

MCB Real Estate

MCB Real Estate has been an extraordinary partner to Our Kids Read through the incredibly generous donation of storefront space at Eastpoint Mall in Baltimore, Maryland, which enabled the creation of what is believed to be the country’s largest free children’s bookstore. Featuring more than 50,000 free books for local Baltimore children and families, the Our Kids Read Baltimore Literacy Hub has become a powerful community-centered space dedicated to literacy, learning, and opportunity. Since its grand opening on February 15, 2025, more than 15,000 books have already been distributed to children and families throughout the Baltimore community.

MCB Real Estate’s support transformed a vacant retail space into a vibrant destination where children can discover books, families can build home libraries, and the community can come together around the joy of reading. We are deeply grateful for MCB Real Estate’s vision, generosity, and commitment to investing in the future of Baltimore’s children and helping expand literacy access for underserved communities.
